We were honoured, for example, to co-host 69th birthday dialogues around Dr Yunus so that we could all understand what help Dr Yunus would like in 2009 year of humanity’s biggest crisis and opportunity caused by the compound financial meltdowns that the 00’s will forever be remembered for. The good news is that these are failures of macroeconomics. Grameen microcredit and other true social business designs are healthier than ever in the sustainability world trades they are developing and the race to end poverty that they unite. We are delighted that a BBC journalist was able to report this good news at BBC Online
Words by Muhammad Yunus: “Economic theory has misinterpreted human beings very badly… human beings are not one-dimensional…the real human beings are not a money making machine”— Muhammad Yunus
“To justify the true human beings we should include another type of business based on selflessness… to invest money to do good that you want to make an impact in the world”— Muhammad Yunus
So “we have no option but to accept Social Business”— Muhammad Yunus
Muhammad Yunus who has founded the Grameen Bank for the poor and widely known as “Banker for the Poor”. He has been spending many of his life working to have sustainable economic development through Entrepreneurship. The role of micro-credit has been in lifting the world’s poorest people out of poverty by giving them appropriate resources to develop their activities and ventures in a way that empowers. In his book, “Creating a World without poverty”, a completely new outlook [Social Business] has been introduced to use the creative vibrancy of business to tackle social problems from poverty and pollution to inadequate health care and lack of education. It offers a pioneering model of nothing less than a new, more humane form of capitalism. Concisely Social Business is the missing part of Capitalism.
Muhammad Yunus dreams of a world without poverty. He is not sat down with this dream rather he is working hard to realise it and to put the poverty in the Poverty Museums. As a human being, we all should be with such a man of this dream. With this outpourings, Muhammad Yunus Forum has been given to birth in inviting and connecting peoples for this very purpose. Yunus Forum is a global community with its potential to be a source of inspirable thinking, dialogue, new action and promotion of ideas to drive positive changes in the world. You all are most welcome to be a part of Muhammad Yunus Forum
